NSPS & ALTA Surveys

An ALTA/NSPS survey conforms to a national standard. This survey is used to remove the survey exception from the Title Policy. The standard Title Policy does not cover matters of survey. If you obtain an ALTA/NSPS survey the Title Company will defend your property against any adverse surveys. To minimize the chance of a property survey claim the ALTA/NSPS survey has many requirements that were written by the American Land Title Association and the National Association of Professional Surveyors. The standard is revised approximately every 5 years. This land survey is generally not economical for a single-family parcel.
